The new headquarters for the non-profit INFRA, Independent Natural Food Retailers Association, renovates an existing 1970’s ‘Butler’ manufactured warehouse most recently converted to a charter school. The renovation strips the poorly insulated shell down to the “Butler’ building steel frame and reclads the frame in a high performance continuous insulated shell with Sierra Pacific ‘Timber-lite’ curtain wall. The interior workspace is flooded with natural daylight through solar tubes and large strategically placed openings. High level south facing windows frame the bluff and bring reflected daylight of the ceilings of southern interior offices acting as a ‘light shelf’. Low level ribbon windows will frame a future garden and patio area. North ‘punched’ windows frame views of St. Paul’s downtown skyline.
